The 2001–2002 Cummins 5.9L Marine pistons use cast aluminum with anodized crowns to resist heat and corrosion. They feature a direct injection bowl, graphite-coated skirts, and keystone top ring grooves for strength under heavy loads. Full-floating wrist pins and internal oil cooling passages help control heat and stress. With a 4.02-inch bore and about a 16.3:1 compression ratio, these pistons handle the tough demands of marine use.
