The exhaust system on the 6.7L Cummins engine (2007.5–2018) is designed to route and treat exhaust gases produced during combustion. It begins at the exhaust manifold, which collects gases from the cylinders and channels them to the turbocharger. From there, gases flow through components like the downpipe, diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), diesel particulate filter (DPF), and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system, which reduce emissions. The system also includes sensors, such as EGT and NOx sensors, that monitor performance and help the engine control module adjust fueling and emissions strategies. Upgraded exhaust components are popular in performance or off-road builds for improved flow and lower backpressure.
Building engines the way the OEM factory should have in the first place.
