The exhaust system on the 2007–2010 Duramax 6.6L LMM directs spent gases from the engine through components like the exhaust manifolds, up-pipes, downpipe, catalytic converter, DPF (diesel particulate filter), and muffler. Designed to reduce emissions and control noise, it also plays a key role in turbocharger performance. Upgraded systems reduce backpressure, improve flow, and enhance power, throttle response, and turbo spool-up, especially when paired with tuning.
