  • Common Issues With The Ford Powerstroke 7.3L (and how we fix them)
  • Valve Failures (The original 7.3 valve wears down faster than any of the other Powerstroke, Cummins, and Duramax Platforms as you can see in the photo. Note the head of the valve. The one on the left is new, the right is old. You can see the margin is worn down to a razor thin section. Eventually this could be catastrophic. If it were continued to run in this condition.) This causes low compression, loss of power, wasted of fuel, poor performance. We resolve this by using a different material with the valves in Choate Engines. 7.3 Valves
  • Valve guide wear (This is fixed by installing our iron matrix guides. They have a much better wear retention than the factory cast iron guides.)
