Rear Gear Engine Verification Instructions

⚠️ CAUTION!!!

Do not proceed until all information in this instruction sheet has been complied with.

Rear gear housing engines often have auxiliary components attached (Air compressors, pumps, gear drives, etc.) and will require oil feeds. The feed to the left side of the engine auxiliary component is commonly fed through the face of the rear gear housing and into the component. It is necessary to ensure oil is being fed through this hole before installation.

Failure to do so will result in damage to auxiliary components.

Due to the many variations of the rear gear drive engines, it is best practice to have verification of the locations for the oil galley plugs. Otherwise, engine removal is necessary to remedy this issue.

ACTION REQUIRED:
Remove the rear gear housing from the old engine and review the reference photo below. Once you have a clear photograph of your old engine block, please submit it using the form along with your Choate sales order number.
