Choate Performance offers a fully remanufactured Komatsu 102 Series Long Block (S6D102E / SA6D102E / SAA6D102E) built on the legendary Cummins 5.9L 12-valve architecture. Engineered for owner-operators and fleet owners who rely on mechanical reliability, our engines are built to handle the grueling thermal and load demands of heavy excavators, loaders, and dozers.

     

    The Choate Remanufacturing Process

    We treat your industrial 5.9L engine with the same "Stock is Not an Option" philosophy we bring to our high-horsepower competition diesel builds:

    • CNC Blueprint Boring: We don't just hone cylinders; we CNC blueprint the block to ensure true geometry, deck flatness, and perfect alignment.

    • KDP Correction: We permanently eliminate the infamous 12-valve "Killer Dowel Pin" issue by installing a tabbed retainer so the pin can never back out into your timing gears.

    • Precision Balancing: We don't settle for simple component weight-matching. We fully balance the entire rotating assembly to within 2 grams. This drastically minimizes harmonic vibration, eliminating the leading cause of premature bearing failure in heavy equipment.

    • Torque Plate Honing: We simulate the clamping force of a torqued cylinder head during the honing process to deliver maximum ring seal and oil control.

    • Upgraded Thermal Sealing: We utilize premium cylinder head hardware and gaskets to prevent the rear-cylinder (#5 and #6) thermal fatigue common on heavy-duty 5.9L platforms.

    Choate Engineering Industrial engines are covered up 2 year / 2,000 hours, with some limitations.

    We also require our customers to follow proper maintenance procedures, replace critical components during installation, and more.

    As consideration for the above warranties, the buyer agrees they will take no action, statement, characterization, or implication regarding Choate Engineering Performance that may in any manner be interpreted as disparaging to Choate Engineering Performance or the reputation of Choate Engineering Performance. Any violation of this is a material breach, entitling Choate Engineering Performance to void any warranty.

    CHOATE ENGINEERING PERFORMANCE SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE, NOR SHALL IT PAY ANY FREIGHT/SHIPPING CHARGES.

    • All freight and shipping charges are the sole responsibility of the customer, including any customs fees or brokerage fees.
    • Any shipments Choate Engineering Performance arranges for the customer include insurance.
    • In the event the purchased unit is damaged during transportation to or from Choate Engineering Performance, Choate Engineering Performance shall not be responsible for any costs associated with such damage.
    • The repair of such damage is not included under the Limited Warranty; should transportation damage skew the results of the diagnosis such that the findings are that the defect is not covered under the Limited Warranty, Choate Engineering Performance shall incur no liability or responsibility whatsoever.
